Investigation of Weight Fraction and Alkaline Treatment on Catechu Linnaeus/Hibiscus cannabinus/Sansevieria Ehrenbergii Plant Fibers-Reinforced Epoxy Hybrid Composites

The aim of the present work is to develop novel hybrid composites using areca, kenaf, and snake grass fibers as reinforcement epoxy matrix. were extracted from Catechu Linnaeus, Hibiscus cannabinus, Sansevieria Ehrenbergii plants, respectively, treated with 5% NaOH improve interfacial adhesion between hydrophilic fiber hydrophobic Hybrid developed by compression molding technique formulated based on weight fraction fibers. Tensile, flexural, impact strength hardness samples prepared per ASTM D 3039, 790, 256, 2240, respectively. effects alkaline treatment investigated. 20% wt. 10% areca interesting mechanical properties a tensile 58 MPa, flexural 124 5.24 kJ/m2, 88. results indicate that maximum obtained for alkaline-treated compared untreated owing better effect was analyzed Fourier transform infrared. fractured surfaces tested scanning electron microscopy.
